i can't say enough about this Sarah Waters classic. this is a powerful film that will always be a favorite. such a rich, full experience created by great acting and an unforgettable portrayal of the joy, pain and suffering of love and independence. the "it" film loved by every lesbian i know and the go-to for hopeless romantics to curl up with and shed a tear or two. "... there's a rose ... in my heart ... for you." (does it every time!)
